Role: UX & Visual Design

Creative Director: Dave Tupper

In 2015 Google decided to start a major revamp of how it presented itself. Being one of the biggest tech company in the world, this project presented unique challenges. The numerous aspects of everything the company represents needed to merge into an easy and cohesive experience that transcends the usual set of corporate statements, and successfully captures the genuine essence of what Google is.

I was part of the client-facing team that was collaborating directly with Google’s multidisciplinary team of clients. I led a small team of designers to ensure we can deliver everything at pace.

We designed an adaptive and decentralized system for Google’s About page to function as a content hub. The system leverages Google’s existing automated services and enables brand managers to curate their own content. We also created the „Today in Doodle history“ and „What the world is searching for now“ modules as part of the experience. These two quintessential Google products communicate cultural context via iconic Doodles, as well real time internet interests via Google Trends. Most importantly the experience empowers the user to learn as much as they have time for about Google.
